On the Occasion the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the Industrial Policy being followed by the State is to leverge the abundant mineral and other resources of the State and to promote maximum value addition of these resources within the State. The objective of industrialization is to maximize employment generation and generate revenue resources through development of ancillary and downstream industries. The thrust sectors that have been identified in the Industrial Policy Resolution, 2007 include the auto components sector which has a large potential for employment generation and the development of engineering ancillary industries. I am therefore, particularly happy that Amatek Metal and Mining Ltd. will set up their auto component manufacturing unit in Orissa, along with their steel plant.
The proposed Auto Park would help generate new areas of growth in the State while providing local skilled youth an opportunity for employment. With the signing of this MoU we expect greater interest from the national auto industry which will help create an Auto Hub in the State. The Availability of raw materials, adequate trained man power, a facilitating investment environment and good logistics will, I am sure, help to develop such a hub in the State.
