Union Minister Srikant Jena urges Orissa governmetn to utilize central fund

If information is properly and timely dessiminated it will empower the common man to dedicate himself in the process of nation building. For this information dessimination centre is giving special attention to such type of Bharat Nirman information campaigns, says Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Sri Srikant Jena.

Addressing the closing function of Bharat Nirman Public Informantion Campaign organised by PIB, as chief guest Mr Jena told that, the centre is giving special attention for the all round development. Under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutkaran Yojana Rs 4000 crore has been allotted to Orissa which should be properly utilized. To give employment to every rural house hold the govt. has implemented MGNREGA all over India. However in some areas of the state the work is being done by machines instead of manual labourers which violates the basic principle of the scheme. To check this district level vigilance comittee has been formed, Mr. Jena said. Centre is implementing various prorammes. but the ambitious goals of these programmes are intentionally blocked in many ways. To check migration of labourers NREGS should be implemented in a bigger scale in those undeveloped areas. Stressing importance of the NRHM, Mr Jena said that the goal of this scheme should reach at the ground level. To fill up the scarcity of doctors he has suggested to convert 350 beded hospitals to medical colleges as Medical Council of India has given relaxation in its rules. To implement Health Insurance Scheme through out the state all the politicians should pressurise the govt. forgetting their political differences, he added. Now in Orissa more than one hundred Kasturaba Gandhi Girl Residential Schools are running and the govt. is giving special attention for the development of the SC/ST studentsí Mr Jena told.

On this occasion Mr Prasad Harichandan, former minister said every scheme should be people oriented and these should reach every village. So that the outcome of the schemes of the government will be successful. Former Union Minister Mr. Kanhu Charan Lenka said , every scheme of the central govt. is carried out by the state govt. The Railway Ministry is also giving special attention for the development of the raiway infrastructure in the state. Forgetting our political differences we should all try to influence the centre for all round development of the state. Former minister Ganeswar Behera adressing the gathering told that such type of campaign should aim at the benefit of the people remain at grassroots. To implement developmental schemes properly the mindset of the politicians & bureaucrats should change, he said. Many central PSUs, state govt. departments, components of I & B Ministry were participated in the five days mega campaign.
