Bhubaneswar: The Opposition Congress on Wednesday alleges kick backs in the purchase of buses and demanding Vigilance investigation on it. Opposition on Wednesday alleged that Urban Develop Minister Badri Narayan Patra was also involved in bus purchase scam. "Nearly 100 buses have been bought from Swarz Mazda Company by the Urban Department and in the said transactions kick backs have been made," alleged Santosh Sing Saluja a thee-time member Kantabanji constituency of Balangir district.
Saluja alleged that buses manufactured by Swaraj Mazda do not last long. He said ruling members has also questioned such purchase from the company in the House.
The State Assembly has been running with only ruling members since July 17, the day when the Congress members resorted to dharna near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and the BJP boycotted the Assembly demanding that the two tainted Ministers _ Badri Narayan Patra and Pratap Jene _ either resigned or be sacked.
In yet another word counter Chief Whip of Opposition Prasad Harichandan also alleged that Speaker does not want take Opposition members into confidence. On the one-and-half hour-long discussion by the ruling members condemning Saluja's remarks on Speaker on Wednesday, Hari Chandan questioned how Speaker has been chairing the House for the last 10 days sans Opposition members, if he had interest to take Opposition into confidence.
