Shimla: A deputation of Gram Rojgar Sevak Sangh led by its President Shri Lalit Kalia and accompanied by other office bearers called on Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, here last evening to apprise him of their various demands.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and said that the rural youth had been provided employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Assurance (MNREGA) programme on commission basis benefitting about 1100 rural youth. He said that the rural youth had been benefitted with employment opportunity at their door steps on the one hand and ensuring development of the respective area on need basis.
He advised Gram Rojgar Sevak Sangh to work dedicatedly and sincerely to carry out development under the programme in their respective areas expeditiously. He said that since the employment had been provided under the Government of India sponsored programme and the State Government was implementing the same as per the guidelines provided by the Centre. He assured the deputation that the State Government would extend all cooperation in meeting its genuine demands by the respective authorities.
