Report by Dipti Ranjan Kanungo; Bhubaneswar: Census 2011 data reveals Female Sex Ratio increases in Odisha's 10 districts. The numbers of females was in downwards since 1921 census. But it has been changed in 2011 census. The numbers of females in 10 districts of Orissa are more than males. These districts are Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nuapada, Nawrangapur,Malkangiri, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Kalahandi .
The number of females 1042 in every 1000 males of Rayagada district. Similarly 1037 in Kandhamal,1031 in Koraput,1020 in Nuapada,1018 in Nawarangapur,1016 in Malkangiri,1006 in Kendrapara,1005 in Mayurbhanj , and 1003 females in 1000 males in kalahandi district. The ratio of females than males is lowest in Nayagada district. The number of females is 916 in every 1000 males in Nayagada district.
The number of females in Khurdha district is 925 in every 1000 males. The number of females increased in Rayagada district where in 40% illiterate and 80% literate in Nayagada district where in the number of females has been decreased.
