Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Tuesday here to discuss four important issues including a special legislation on issuance of caste certificates.
According to sources, the meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will give post-facto approval to the decision to hand over the mid-day meal programme to the School and Mass Education Department from Women and Child Development Department for smooth operations. Besides, the Cabinet will discuss the report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by SC and ST Development Minister Lal Bihari Himrika on the issuance of caste certificates and vet the proposed Special Bill on the subject to be introduced in the ensuing monsoon session of the State Assembly.
The Cabinet is also scheduled to decide on a proposal to regularise the services of Forest Guards and Foresters and to approve the Annual Report for the Year 2010-11 of the Lok Pal. This will be the last Cabinet before the monsoon session of the State Assembly scheduled to begin from August 17 and, accordingly, the Cabinet will also endorse the convening of the Assembly.
