Odisha Cabinet meets today; to discuss and take decision on 16 issues

Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Saturday afternoon under the chairmanship of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, at the State Secretariat here. The Cabinet is likely to discuss and take decision on 16 items in the agenda. Besides, the Council of Ministers’ meeting with only a few days left for the winter session of the State Assembly beginning on December 9.

The Council would endorse the draft first Supplementary Budget for the financial year 2011-12. Among other things, the Cabinet would deliberate on the proposal for enactment of a special legislation to control and regulate use of bio-degradable materials, amendment of Odisha Village Level Workers Recruitment and Services Rules, proposal of restructuring and strengthening of the Directorate of Horticulture, proposal on rationalisation of rates of taxes under the Odisha VAT Act-2004 and proposal for amendment of Industrial Policy Resolution-2007 for leasing of government land for infrastructure projects on BOOT mode.
