Odisha:  Recruitment process for army personnel in Paradip to be fully automated

Report by Amarnath Parida; Jagatsinghpur: The recruitment process for army personnel is Fully Automated Process whereby Recruit Master Data Sheet (RMDS) is maintained on Real Time basis based on computer based authentication mechanism for capture and verification of Biometric Data and Digital Photographs of candidates during recruitment rally at Paradip to be held from 17 May to 23 May 2012- said director ARO Cuttack. Colonel KDS Gill on today.

In a press meet, Mr.Gill said that the efforts of army officials are in line with overall requirement of concerted efforts by Indian Army and Odisha government to create awareness about the spectrum of welfare oriented functioning of the army and to project the realistic image of the army as an elite organization to the civilians. It in envisaged that it will spread awareness about various career options in the army and motivate the Odia youth to choose army as a career.

During the media briefing for Army Recruitment Rally held at Jagatsinghpur, there were array of questions concerning various aspects of the army including its unique role in nation building. It was highlighted that Indian Army still remains the most important pillar of the nation, be it War, Internal Security Duties or Peace. When rest fails, it is the Army which has always been there to salvage.  An Indian Army soldier is moved by sheer will and motivation, which was instilled in him since the day he first dresses up in the uniform. The sense of pride and honour associated with challenging career options in Army was highlighted during the media interaction.- he added.

ARO, Cuttack has also established Army Recruitment Stall during Zila Mahostav : Kallo 12 organized by District Council of Culture, Jagasinghpur to facilitate lively, encouraging and informative interaction with the children, youth and parents, so as to motivate them to choose Army as a career and to spread awareness about various career options in the Army.

Lot of children, youth, teachers and parent who visited the Army Recruitment Stall established during Zila Mahostav : Kallo 12 at Jagatsingpur were inquisitive about various career options for joining Indian Army and wanted to know about various arms and services and associated professional challenges. They were keen to know about education qualifications, age limit, physical fitness requirements and modalities of joining Indian Army. Requisite information about Lifestyle, Pay, Allowances, pension & other benefits, accommodation, medical, education, CSD & other facilities, welfare, sports, adventure, etc was also provided to the visitors.

Army Recruitment Rally will be conducted by ARO, Cuttack at Gopabandu Stadium, Paradip from 17 May to 23 May 2012. The candidates from ten coastal districts of Odisha will screen for Recruitment of Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (Clerk/ Store Keeper) and Defence Security Corps (DSC). In addition, candidates from all the thirty districts of Odisha will be screened for Recruitment of Soldier (Technical) and Soldier (Nursing Assistant). Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Medical Examination will be carried at Paradip during the conduct of Recruitment Rally.
