Dispur: Muktesh K Pardeshi, Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer, Ministry of External Affairs formally inaugurated the Passport Seva Kendra at Guwahati under the Regional Passport Office, Guwahati on April 17. This newly setup Kendra is a part of Government of India’s e-governance programme on Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model and in partnership with M/S Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Inaugurating the Kendra, Muktesh K Pardeshi said that, this Passport Seva Kendra will deliver all passport related services to the citizens in a timely, transparent, more accessible, reliable manner and in a comfortable environment through streamlined processes and committed, trained and with motivated workforce. Chief Passport Officer Pardeshi further said that all the capital cities of the North Eastern States will have the facilities of Passport Seva Kendra soon.
Speaking on the occasion Golok Kumar Simli, Principal Consultant of PSP, Ministry of External Affairs said, this Passport Seva Project (PSP) was started in the Month of May 2010 at Bangalore as a Pilot Project and within next May, 2012 functioning of altogether 77 nos. of Passport Seva Kendra will be started under 37 Passport Offices in the country.
Among others, the inaugural programme was alsoaddressed by Director, MEA and Regional Passport Officer of NE Zone T Armstrong Changsan and Rajesh Dogra, Head Business Operation, TCS, PSP.
