Report by OD bureau; Konark: Odisha's first community news paper NAMASKAR will be published from Konark from first week of July. NAMASKAR will be published as fortnightly. This was said by noted social activist N.A.Shah Ansari.
Today more than 100 delegates from different rural villages of Konark & Gop area were congregated here at Konark and discussed on different aspects of a community news paper & its need at a place like Konark. "This workshop was facilitated by noted activist N.A.Shah Ansari . Among others noted Gandhian Activist S.A. Safique, Journalist Basudev Mahapatra were present and guided the team.
Speaking to Odishadiary.com Ansari said that, "As per the need of the hour all the present delegates were agreed on need of a community news paper in this locality & discussed on its different aspects. All the readers will be its reporter & news box will be placed in each Gram Panchayat of Gop Block for community report purpose. In each issue 5 best rural reporter will be felicitated. Its will be edited by a team of rural women & will be focused on rural issues & realities."
He further added that, "It is the such type first initiative in the state, hopefully which will show a new light in the field of citizen journalism of the country."
