Bhubaneswar: The first symposium ‘Higher Education of Odisha - Challenges and Opportunity - 2012’ will be hosted in Seattle, Washington on July 5 during the Odisha Society of Americas’ (OSA) annual convention.
Its aim is to bring together key stake holders from Odisha higher education sector and US university representatives to enable networking and foster personal relationship among stake holders for mutual benefit, establish specific student/faculty exchange programmes between universities in the US and Odisha, facilitate visit by US universities to Odisha, MoU between Odisha and US universities for collaborative research, joint study programme for mutual benefit and digital infrastructure.
The symposium is planned to have panels, deliberations and active interaction between educationists, universities representatives and Government delegates.
Distinguished speakers are High Commissioner of India to Trinidad, Tobago Malay Mishra, MP Baijayant Panda, Ravenshaw University VC Baishnab Tripathy, Director of Admissions Michael K McCawley, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies Jim Moore of University of California, Associate Vice-President, International Education, California State University, Dr Jeet Joshee and Dr Tugrul Daim from Engineering and Technology Management, Portland State University.
