Report by OD bureau, New Delhi: Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik reviewed the 'Action Taken' by Govt. of India on important issues discussed by him with the Central Ministers in his meetings held in Delhi during 2012.
The review was held at Odisha Bhawan today. Principal Resident Commissioner and other senior officers were present. Proposals concerning Ministries of Culture, Environment and Forests, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Health & Family Welfare, Water Resources, Civil Aviation, Agriculture and Food Processing Industries and Tourism were taken up for review. Hon'ble Chief Minister noted that action has been initiated on most of the issues and already completed in respect of some.
He was informed that many other important proposals including upgradation of Biju Patnaik Domestic Airport to International Airport, Flood Management Programmes, introduction of Special Buddhist Train to Buddhist Circuits and inclusion of Odisha under the Revised Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme are at advanced stages of processing in the Government of India.
Hon'ble Chief Minister appreciated the efforts being made by the office of the Principal Resident Commissioner in pursuing the important proposals with the Govt. of India. He however desired that some pending proposals relating to Ministry of Environment & Forests, Health & Family Welfare and Civil Aviation require more vigorous follow-up by the State in view of their significance to Odisha
