Report from Amarnath Parida; Paradep: In a bizarre incidence, four persons of a family in Kujang area were killed and one five years old kid was seriously injured by electric shocks on Monday evening.

Sources said that one Dhumat Patnaik, the first of the four victims was killed when he stepped into a puddle with a naked high-voltage electric wire running through it. Hearing his scream, his father rushed to the spot to rescue him but he killed on electric shock.

The other two women of same family Koili and Saraswti of same family were also electrocuted while trying to rescue those in same puddle in this village after heavy rainfall hit in Odisha coast on today. One five years old kid was seriously injured during this accident in which he has been hospitalized at local hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, villagers rushed to the spot and stopped power supply after this incidence. Locals also shifted them Manijanga hospital in critical condition for treatment while doctor declared them brought to dead.

Kujang police have rushed to the spot and started investigation about the cause of death. Police has seized the dead body and sent them Kujang hospital for postmortem.
