Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: Achyuta Samanta has stepped down as Secretary of KIIT & KISS. However, he would continue to guide the two organisations’ development and betterment as Advisor.

Samanta had expressed desire to quit the position in January 2011. But KIIT & KISS Society had requested him to continue till the end of 99th Indian Science Congress. He resigned from the post in March 2012 soon after completion of the Congress in January 2012.

After establishing KIIT & KISS, he has been in the post of Secretary of the two organizations for last 20 years since their inception. “I have vacated the position to give chance to others,” he said. He has expressed that he will continue to see the overall development of KIIT and KISS as both organizations are blood and oxygen to him.
 
Further he mentioned that he sought relief from the post of Secretary, KIIT & KISS as he will do more social services at national level on request of many States. On his persistent request, his resignation from the post of Secretary, KIIT & KISS was accepted on March 2012 in a Board Meeting.
 
As per resolution of KISS Society, 10 passout and continuing students of the institution have been nominated as the Office Bearers and Members of the Society. Saswati Bal would continue as President of KIIT and KISS, while Rabindra Nath Dash has been appointed as new Secretary of KIIT, as per the Society resolution.
