Odisha: Sabyasachi Panda led Maoist fraction gains presence in AOB den
Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Report by Kishore Dash & Deba Prasad Dash, Malkangiri: After the expulsion of the Odisha state organization secretary Sabyasachi Panda alias Sunil from CPI (Maoist) outfit recently, the top Odiya rebel leader led Odisha Maoist Party (OMP) for the first has gained its presence in the CPI(Maoist) dominated Malkangiri-Koraput bordering areas under Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee(AOB).

Daring the AOB cadres, Panda led OMP fraction  has reportedly taken an upper hand over the CPI(Maoist) cadres in Badural,Madkapadar of Malkangiri and Machhkund and Ankadaily of Koraput districts recently.

In thousands of posters put up at several places in Malkangiri-Koraput district bordering remote areas, OMP has called upon the people to join the new outfit and observe the I-Day as a black day on Wednesday.

The cadres belonging to Panda's outfit have blocked the Badural-Ankadaily road by felling trees at several places. Vehicular traffic has been thrown out of gear on the route following the road blockade.

Many cadres of the CPI (Maoist) have already joined the Sabyasachi Panda led fraction and posing a tough challenge to his rival AOB cadres operating in the region over the years, sources said.

It is believed that OMP cadres are organizing meetings in AOB den and pursuing the villagers to join the newly formed outfit to carry forward the mass revolution.
With the activists of Panda's fraction have already entered into the AOB Zone, a tussle between both the fractions seems inevitable.

As both the fractions called for observing the I-Day as a black day, fear looms large in the area and the teachers and other PR representatives have become frightened after the rebels 'dikat' not to unfurl the tri-colour on I-Day.
