Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government to build permanent buildings for all anganwadi centres in the state by 12th plan period-end. This was informed by the Chief Secretary BK Patnaik after a review meeting over this at Secretariat in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha chief secretary directs district collectors to accommodate all Anganwadi centres running outside buildings in safe rooms of school buildings. The State Government has set a target to construct at least 5,000 buildings each year. The Women and Child Development Department has been asked to ensure that all the anganwadi centres have permanent buildings by the end of 12th Plan period.
Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department Arati Ahuja and Director Sujata Karthikeyan, Development Commissioner RN Senapati, Finance Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Rural Development Secretary SN Tripathy and other senior officials participated in this review meeting.
