Report by OD bureau; Bhubaneswar: Number of dengue positive cases in Odisha jumps to 579 with detection of 4 new cases in Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. As per the government report The dengue death toll in the state rose to four.
Among these four victims two are from Angul and one each in Ganjam and Jajpur districts. According to the Health minister Damodar Rout while Ganjam district topped the list with 270 cases, Balasore, Angul, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Khurda districts have 178, 57, 17, 13 and 10 cases respectively.
The health department has constituted district-level cells to monitor sanitation measures and treatment of patients. The minister, however, said the state government is fully prepared to tackle the disease. Health minister said senior health officials were monitoring the situation in the dengue-affected districts of the state.
