Report by Amarnath Parida; Paradip: Anti and Pro Posco activists united in trouble torn Gobindpur village on today for preventing the entry of Posco Pratirodhj Sangram Samiti leader Mr Abhya Sahu and his son for creating law & order situation, bloodshed and violence among the innocent villagers in the name of Posco issue to fulfill their mission. Meanwhile, seven years old PPSS has been split and rebel PPSS activists formed another outfit ‘‘Posco Pratirodha Bikalapa Yuba Manch’

Earlier, fraction and conflict had erupted in Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti due to monopoly and nexus relation of its Mr Abhya Sahu and ruling party leaders on Posco steel project issue. Mr Sahu’s double standard role had been exposed before the villagers so they had asked him to quit Dhinkia panchyat in few months back. Differences between Mr Sahu and his counterpart leaders of PPSS have come to the fore like never before.

Villagers of Gobindpur have expressed that the dubious and double standard role of PPSS leader Mr Sahu who had made us confusion. Without taking the decision of the villagers and its leaders, Mr Sahu had been operating anti Posco movement in Dhinkia panchyat which is illegal and anti-people activities so we have united on today and protested the dictatorship and monopoly of Mr Sahu.

As Mr Sahu’s position is not safe in proposed Posco site so he has been pressed his son Abhijit Sahu to from another organization‘Anchlika Yuba Parishad’ to strengthen his stability in Posco area. In last week, his son conducted meeting among rural youths at Gobindpur and extended their cooperation for this organization.

 Getting this information, anti and Pro Posco leaders of Gobindpur united on today  and conducted a meeting for preventing the entry of outsider including Sahu and not allowing other outside organization to open their office in said village.

The leaders of Yuba Manch Babuli Rout, Ashok Burdhan who announced about new outfit have expressed that they have determined not to allow the anti Posco leader Mr Sahu. They have vowed to protest Sahu and his son to Gobindpur village. The officer bearers of Yuba Manch will be selected very soon. After election of its leaders, the Manch will chalk out its strategies to expedite Posco movement. All the anti Posco leaders who were in PPSS have joined in Yuba Manch to give a lesson to anti Posco leader Mr Sahu.

Rebel PPSS leader Mr Rout said ‘we irrespective anti and pro Posco youth leaders have united and vowed not to allow any outsider including Mr Sahu to our village for creating law & order situation and violence in peaceful village. We will take our own decision about the Posco project but no outsider would involve in our decision’. He added.

Similarly, pro Posco leader Mr Rajan Burdhan said ‘ today’s meeting between anti and Pro Posco youth leaders will strengthen our unity so no outsider  including Sahu and his supporter would courage to enter our village. Not entry of these outsiders would avert bloodshed, violence and anti social activities in our village ’. - He added.

Other anti Posco leader Ashok Burdhan, pro Posco leaders Chandan Parida, Hemant Burdhan and hundreds of youth from different groups participated in this meeting and vowed to prevent the entry of outsider to our village.

Secretary of United Action Committee, a pro Posco outfit expressed ‘in late, villagers of Gobindpur have realized their mistake and their unity would avert violence and also create opportunity for implementation of valorous development projects’. He said.

On the other hand, harried anti Posco leader Mr Sahu conducted a meeting at Dhinkia on today ignoring the villagers of Gobindpur not to intensify Posco movement but to strengthen PPSS organization after fraction among them.

Secretary of PPSS Mr Sisir Mohapatra said ‘PPSS has least concerned about the unity among anti and pro Posco leaders in Gobindpur so their aim to prevent the entry of outsider would not affect Posco movement’. He warned.
