Report by OD bureau, Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh decided that funds under Mukhyamantri Grameen Awas Mission will be transferred to beneficiaries in three installments instead of four.
Presently, a beneficiary is provided 20 percent at foundation level, 30 percent at plinth level, 35 percent at roof level and final 15 percent on completion. Now, the first installment of 50 percent will be given after digging of foundation for completion of works of raising foundation, plinth and construction of walls, second installment of Rs. 40 thousand for completing works pertaining to roof, doors and windows and final 10 percent for completing remaining necessary works.
This decision will facilitate construction of pucca houses and pace of construction works will also be accelerated.
With a view to institutionally strengthening the Public Works Department’s Project Implementation Units (PIUs), the cabinet decided to increase their number from 21 to 29. If need arises in future, permission has been granted to change nature of PIUs’ work and their headquarters keeping the number of PIUs within 29. Permission has also been granted for creating and filling up of posts for additional PIUs through deputation/contract.
The cabinet sanctioned creation and rationalisation of a total of 4,741 posts in the Directorate of Panchayat Raj and all the training centres under it at the division, district, Janpad panchayat and panchayat levels. It may be mentioned that an independent Directorate of Panchayat Raj was constituted in the state in 2007. As a result of the new administrative structures, schemes and programmes underway at every level will be effectively supervised.
The cabinet endorsed partial amendment in Shraddhanidhi Yojna for journalists. Now, the condition of ‘senior journalists not dependent on relatives’ has been removed.
