Odisha: Vedanta restarts operations of Lanjigarh refinery , likely to shutdown again in Dec. 5

Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium restarts its Lanjigarh refinery on Monday. This was informed by the Vedanta Aluminium official. Vedanta's 75MW Lanjigarh captive power plant, shut since Oct 12 due to unavailability of resources starts functioning.

It should be noted that refinery was shut since October 12 after it ran out of bauxite. Vedanta Aluminium has sourced 90,000 tonnes of bauxite from the Gujarat Mineral Development Corp (GMDC). It has arranged for about 35,000 tonnes of bauxite from its own captive mine of Balco in Chhattisgarh.
