Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: Disappointment for the state again and state Congress leadership as not a single MP from the state included in the Union Council of Ministers in today's reshuffle. Neither senior leader Srikanta Jena elevated to cabinet rank nor youth leader Pradeep Majhi inducted as minister.
Even the he Balasore MP Srikanta Jena is said to be unhappy with his current status of a being a minister of state. Jena, who was given minister of state rank in UPA II despite being a cabinet minister in the H D Deva Gowda government in 1996, reportedly met AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Friday.
The mega Cabinet reshuffle took place on Sunday with a bevy of young faces taking up key posts. Cabinet posts went to K Rahman Khan (Karnataka) - Minority Affairs Ministry, Dinsha Patel (Gujarat), Ajay Maken (New Delhi), Pallam Raju (Andhra Pradesh), Ashwani Kumar (Punjab) - Law Ministry, Harish Rawat (Uttarakhand), Chandresh Kumari Katoch (Rajasthan).
MOS Independent Charge went to Manish Tewari (Punjab) and K Chiranjeevi (Andhra Pradesh).
The following leaders were made Ministers of State: Shashi Tharoor (Kerala), Kodikunnil Suresh (Kerala), Tariq Anwar (Maharashtra), K Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy (Andhra Pradesh), Ranee Narah (Assam), Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (West Bengal), Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury (West Bengal), Sarve Satyanarayana (Andhra Pradesh), Ninong Ering (Arunachal Pradesh), Deepa Dasmunsi (West Bengal), Porika Balram Naik (Andhra Pradesh), Dr Smt Kruparani Killi (Andhra Pradesh), Lalchand Kataria (Rajasthan).
