Report by OdishaDiary bureau, Bhubaneswar: Odisha Council of Ministers on Thursday approved draft proposal of the State Budget for 2013-14. As per the sources this year budget proposal is more than Rs 5,000 crore than last year.
This year budget proposal likely to cross Rs 57,000 crore, about Rs 5,000 crore more than Rs 52,030.70 crore outlay proposed for 2012-13. This budget approval also included CM Naveen Patnaik’s recently announced people-centric schemes like Re1/kg rice scheme, aid to youth clubs, concrete roads and Kalyan Mandaps in ULBs.
Current budget will be focus on agriculture, education, health and infrastructure creation. The Budget session of the Odisha assembly is slated to commence from February 14. The budget will be presented on the assembly on February 19.
