Parichay Foundation felicitated Ten Eminent Women on the eve of International Women's Day
Report by Sambit Samal, Bhubaneswar: Parichay Foundation celebrated “International Women’s Day” with series of programmes by Padmashri Ileana Citaristi & Padmashri Shovana Narayan.
Governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare inaugurated the programme by lighting of lamp as Chief Guest. A large gathering of people, the office bearers of Mahila Mandals, NGOs representatives, women activists and prominent social workers, attended the function held at Rabindra Mandap. The function was presided over by Rosalin Patasani (President & founder, Parichay Foundation) welcomed the chief guest by presenting bouquets.
In her welcome speech, Rosalin Patasani explained her vision of women empowerment by empowering them socially, economically as well as politically. She stressed that everybody is equal before the law and women should come forward to be empowered. She showed her concern on present status of women, growing incidents of violence against women and measures to check domestic violence.
10 Eminent Women have been felicitated for their dedicated services to the society in the field of Social work, Art, Litrature, Public Administration, Entrepreneurship & Politics. Chief Guest distributed Mementos & Certificates to the awardees and appreciated Parichay Foundation initiative of providing platform to the deserving women.
