Odisha Cabinet approved new grant-in-aid (GIA) policy, 10 other proposals
Report by Priyabrata Nayak; Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet today approved new grant-in-aid (GIA) policy. As per the approval now schools getting block grants for more than 8 years would be eligible to get full grants.

The State Cabinet today approved 11 proposals including the one for replacing the existing block grant system for school teachers with a grant-in-aid policy, New Tourism Policy, amendment to Odisha Industrial Security Force act and others . As per new approval now the Block Grant Will Be Increased To 60 Per Cent In Revised Pay Scale Of Teachers And Staff In High & Up School. This Will Accommodate Teachers And Staff In 1594 High Schools And 916 Up Schools.

Cabinet also approved the guideline modification in Biju Saharanchala Vidyutikaran Yojana (BSVY). Less than 100 population areas can now be covered under the scheme.
