Odisha govt raises Retirement age of doctors from 60 to 65 years
Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday enhanced the retirement age of doctors working at three medical colleges. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today okayed a proposal raising retirement age of doctors working in Government medical colleges.

Doctors working at SCB medical college in Cuttack, VSS medical college in Sambalpur and MKCG medical college in Berhampur will now retire at the age of 65. It should be noted that earlier in the last winter session of the Odisha Assembly, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Damodar Rout had said out of the sanctioned posts of 4,362 doctors, 3,936 posts have been filled up and 426 are vacant.

It should be noted that the retirement age of doctors in Jammu and Kashmir is 70 while many other States have increased it to 65.
