A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting presided over by chief secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy at the State Secretariat here on Wednesday.
This is for the first time in the state that the culture department is contemplating on bringing out such an authentic documentation work on its own.
The book would accommodate all necessary data regarding the origin of Oriya language and its growth.
It would also contain the writing of the celebrated writers and poets of the yesteryears.
The state government would constitute a committee under the chairmanship of secretary, culture to this effect. The first edition will come up within first six months, the meeting decided.
