‘DGP Nanda made surprise visits to Malkangiri,  blames Maoist’s for misguiding tribals

Malkangiri: The tribals residing in the remote, inaccessible and interior pockets  of the district do not know what ‘politics’ is , remarked Director General of Police Gopal Nanda during his surprise visit to the district on Tuesday.
Nanda arrived here by a state owned helicopter at about 12.30 pm today and his visit was reportedly kept top secret from the security point of view and the media persons were even not informed. Immediately after landing at the DNK Ground here,the DGP rushed to Police Guest House.Speaking to the newsmen at the police guest house,Nanda blamed the Maoists for misguiding the innocent and illiterate tribals.However,socio-economic problem still continues in the tribal dominated pockets of the district,he informed. Replying to the various queries of the media persons on various issues, DGP Nanda told that he will held discussion with the Government on the construction of Motu bridge over river Saveri, providing better road communication facilities and ensuring socio-economic development of the tribal people in the district.
Later, in a meeting with the Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar Gajbhiye,Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sanjeev Arora and other police officials ,he reviewed the latest law & order situation and Naxal problem in the district.Nanda also garlanded at the statues of the Saheed Jawans in the police guest premises on the occasion.The DGPs visit to Malkangiri assumes quite significance in view of the arrest of the three Maoist cadres including the Hardcore Salbam Mukta from Chhatisgarh from Motu area on Monday.Additional DGP –cum-Police Housing Board Chairman Prakash Mishra and Director (Intelligence) M.M.Praharaj were also accompanied Nanda.
