Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The ongoing tussle between priest and trust board led to lock up the historical Digabarani temple in Tirtol block past few days finally resolved on Tuesday and the temple opened for the devotees.
Report said that Digabarani temple locates in Lanka Pada village under Kanimula Panchayat in Tirtol area is recognized as a historical spot where devotees are usually visited worshiping deity Maa Digabarani for cure of their manifold eye ailments. Past few days an unusual rift had surfaced between temple’s hereditary priests and temple trust board as consequence the temple went on lock up as consequence visiting devotees and locals had complained state endowment commission to act on the incident.
Acting on the locals complaint endowment commission took the matter seriously and had sent an endowment officer Dinabbandhu Swain to hold consultation with aggrieved both priest and trust board people to sort out the crisis. The officer after reaching temple invited both the groups in presence of local police for discussion and the crisis amicably resolved in the meeting and temple opened for the general public on Tuesday night, informed Bata Krushna Khunita, temple trust board chief.
