Report by Amarnath Parida; Paradip: Three armed miscreants looted Rs 8 lakh at gun point at oil refinery project site of IOCL in Paradip while one construction agency disbursed salary to its employees on Monday evening.

According to reports, contract IOT Anisha has been pressed into service for construction work in oil refinery project of IOCL in Paradip. On today evening, the cashier of this agency disbursed salary to its employees and other workers at camp office in Paradip area under Abhyachandpur police limit. During this time, three armed miscreants forcibly entered into the office forcibly and looted the amount on gunpoint and fled from the scene.

Police swung into action immediately after getting information, but they were yet to get any major breakthrough.

An FIR against three unidentified persons was registered with the police. "In preliminary investigation, it was found that there was negligence on the part of cashier” in charge SP Mr Bijay Sahu said. No guard was deployed during the payment of cash to its employees and workers. He said that a manhunt was launched to nab the miscreants.
