Odisha: One held in Kujanga woman assault

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: Kujanga police on Friday picked up one Ravindra Mallick the alleged man involved in the Kujanga woman assault incident and forwarded him to JMFC court Kujanga after rejection of his bail pleas the accused sent to Jail.

Report said that one Sasmita Mallick hailing from Mangarajpur village near Kujanga was critically injured following altercation between two families on 14 june, later victim woman who is  now undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Cuttack. She  had lodged an FIR in Kujanga police station seeking arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.

Surprisingly police did not respond  the complaint  later state human rights commission took the matter seriously two days ago and directed superintendent of police Jagatsinghpur giving a status report over the incident to commission within two weeks. Acting on the commission direction Kujanga police along with their Paradeep counterparts arrested Ravindra Mallick at PPL chowk near Paradeep .
