Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The chief judicial magistrate [ CJM] court here giving  judgment in a rape case sentenced an accused man to undergo 7 years rigorous imprisonment and pay fine Rs 2000 on Tuesday.    

The accused named as Hiranya Swain alias Kalia hails from Belapur village under Balikuda police limits had arrested following a charge against him raping a teen aged girl in same village three years ago and police had prosecuted him under section 376 IPC and the trail had under taken in CJM court here. After taking witnesses and evidences supplied by the prosecution and defending lawyers from accused side the court found him guilty and awarded the punishment.
