Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: At least 8 girl students were residing in Mathasahi Ashrama tribal school hostel in Gadaharishpur Panchayat under Erasama block suffered dehydration and immediately shifted to hospital for treatment on Tuesday and their conditions are stated to be stable, hospital sources said.
Report said that about 160 students were boarding in the hostel specially meant for the Dalit and tribal students and on Monday night few students after taking dinner started vomiting and fell ill from them 8 girl students named as Jamuna Majhi, Sumi Hosta, Paravati Murmu, Jhilly Soren, Phulamani Majhi, Durga Soren, Basanti Tudu and Parvati Majhi conditions turned critical and urgently these victim girls had shifted to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday morning.
Immediately a medical team led by additional district medical officer Dr Mamata Sahoo rushed to the hostel and examined the students affected suffering vomiting and dehydration, according to her the situation is under control and conditions of all affected victims are fast curing, she informed.
