Report by Amarnath Parida; Paradip: In major breakthrough, Paradip police by the intervention of CISF personnel unearthed iron scraps theft case and also arrested two accused persons from them on Friday.
One racket is in active for theft of scrap iron theft cases in which smugglers are running their good business smoothly by selling it. The scrap iron smugglers have allegedly given money to different company officials and released their stolen iron scraps from different gates.
On yesterday, one truck driver loaded five tones of iron scrap, angle, pipe and other important machineries from prohibited area of Paradip port. CISF personnel demanded truck driver to show the pass to release the truck but driver attempted to flee from the gate number 3 of Paradip port. CISF personnel detained the truck & its driver and handed over to the Paradip police.
Meanwhile, inspector of CISF Mr Sunil Dutta lodged an FIR in Paradip police station in which police has registered a case in this theft case.
IIC, Paradip police station Mr Anil Mishra said ‘the cost of stolen iron scrap is more than Rs 1 lakh. Both driver Ghanshyam Ojha and helper Pravat Kumar Swain have arrested and forwarded to the court on today’. He added.
