Report by Kishore Dash & Deba Prasad Dash, Malkangiri: In a mission to generate awareness through dissemination of information leading to adequate programme literacy regarding entitlements and processes both for the beneficiaries as well as the implementers to ensure optimum results, the district administration is on the job to involve tribal cultural troupes in the Information Education and Communication programme
As a part of this mission, a mega cultural programme was held at the Stadium here under the banner of District Council of Culture (DCC) where more than ten troupes including 'koya', and 'didyai' from different regions of the district were performed their traditional dances.
Inagurating the programme,Collector M.Muthu Kumar said "Augment and harness full potential of IEC leading to empowerment of rural poor andParticipatory model for development"would be immense beneficial to develop key messages which are required to be communicated to the various stakeholders including the beneficiaries and implementers.
The model would also ensures that an interactive process takes place by way of organizing cultural extravaganza, events etc. wherein people are given opportunity to interact and give their opinions, Kumar said.
Among others,ZP vice-president Banshidhar Muduli ,DFO T.Ashok Kumar,DRDA Project Director and Sub-collector Loknath Mandia and other government officials were present.
Hundreds of people were enjoyed the hour long cultural extravaganza.
