New Delhi: TATA Steel, Jindal Steel and Power and Punjab National Bank today were rewarded with Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Award under the aegis of The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in recognition to their massive contribution for promoting and propagating CSR initiatives in their respective enterprises.
The awards were given away to their senior executives by Secretary, Ministry of Department of Company Affairs (DCA), Mr. R. Bandyopadhyay and Member, Planning Commission, Mr. Arun Maira in the presence of ASSOCHAM Secretary General Mr. D.S. Rawat and its Education and Real Estate committee Chairmen Mr. Vinay Rai and Mr. Navin M. Raheja in the midst of ASSOCHAM organized 2nd International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility.
While TATA Steel and Jindal Steel & Power were given away the awards to promote CSR initiatives in their enterprises for public good, the Punjab National Bank was chosen for the award for itís initiatives for macro-financing of corporate initiatives, said ASSOCHAM Secretary General, Mr. D.S. Rawat.
Mr. Rawat said that the ASSOCHAM would announce similar awards for many more corporate houses who walk an extra mile to popularize, promote and propagate CSR initiatives and help develop a culture for intensively voluntary adoption of CSR.
