Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a leading coal producer in the country and subsidiary of ‘Maharatna’ Coal India Limited, has been conferred on the ‘Performance Excellence Award’ by the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIIE).
The award was received by A K Singh, Director (Technical/Project & Planning) and B N Jha, CGM, MCL, Lakhanpur Area, during the award ceremony on June 15 in Udaipur of Rajasthan.
MCL, which is the highest tax-payer for Odisha government, won the accolade under Silver Category for the ‘Financial and Operational Strength’ for year 2010-11.
Founded in 1992, the MCL has consistently grown from 23 million tonne to 103 million tonne coal producing company.
