Report by Kanhu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: Milita Chasi Sangathan a farmers outfit was working for the displaced and land losers for proposed Essar plant site at Paradeep had deferred its proposed agitation following a talk between agitated farmers' body and Essar authorities on Sunday.
Demanding proper employment for the displaced families in Essar project, farmer's outfit had called an indefinite agitation from Monday, responding the incident Essar authorities had called them for a meeting at Bhubaneswar, and the leaders of farmer outfit replied it positively and attended the meeting on Sunday, apart from the meeting Essar officials agreed providing jobs to the unemployed youth in two phases as candidates having ITI and diploma passed out would be appointed and displaced families would be taken in priority basis besides non technical people living aside project site villages would be suitable availed employment opportunity in Essar plant company authority agreed, so we decided to deferred our agitation, informed Sanjy Swain, farmer's body leader and Sarpanch Bhutamundei Panchayat.
Farmers outfit leaders Ravindra Choudhury, Citrasen Ray, Dhirendra Swain, Mihira Nayak, Manoj Pattnaik and Soubhagya Rout had attended the meeting along with their Essar counterparts project director P K Gupta, M K Thakur and P K Mohanty.
