Report by OD bureau; Paradeep: The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd. (IFFCO) Paradeep Unit celebrated 66th Independence Day on 15.08.2012. A grand function was organized here in the IFFCO Sports Stadium, located in Surinder Jakhar Nagar (IFFCO Township).
SK Gandhi, Senior General Manager of IFFCO unfurled the National Tri Color before large gathering of employees and their family members. At first, Sri Gandhi inspected the Parade made by IFFCO Security Forces and took Guard of Honour. All employees along with their family members of IFFCO Township joined this programme.
Sri Gandhi congratulated all members of IFFCO family on this great occasion of Independence Day. At first, Sri Gandhi conveyed the message of our Hon’ble MD, Dr. US Awasthi and thanked all members of Paradeep Unit for their contribution and active support in breaking its own records in production & achieving overall excellence by IFFCO Paradeep Unit. In spite of several constraints, during the current year 2012-13, Paradeep Unit has already achieved a production of 4.50 lakh tons so far and progressing well to achieve the Annual Target (18.40 lakh Mts) during the year.
He appreciated that due to sincere effort coupled with hard work of employees of IFFCO, Paradeep Unit is progressing well towards its goal. IFFCO Paradeep Unit also regularly exporting its surplus Power to GRIDCO since last four years.
Gandhi informed the Gathering that on 12.08.2012 our Phosphoric Acid Plant (PAP) has achieved a record production of 3000 Mt per day and congratulated the entire Team of Paradeep Unit on this great success. He also stated that our MD Dr. Awasthi has also conveyed his thanks to our Paradeep Team for this great achievement.
Besides the Unit has earned Additional revenue of ``946 lakhs during the period from April to July 2012 by sale of Gypsum, Hydro Fluorosilisic Acid and Export of Power to the state. The Unit also contributed `781 lakhs to the Govt. of Odisha towards VAT & Entry Taxes etc. during the current financial year from April to August 2012.
Gandhi however, informed the gathering that Environment & Safety will be given top most priority and requested all employees to ensure that the coming years are accident-free, i.e. even without minor injury for all of us working in Paradeep Unit.
Besides production of fertilizer, IFFCO Paradeep Unit is also making all out efforts in carrying out CSR activities in and around the districts of Jagatsinghpur & Kendrapara.
IFFCO Paradeep Unit was felicited by Collector, Kendrapara on World Red Cross Day held on 08.05.2012 for its benevolent work which was extended to the people of the Kendrapara District during last years devastating flood situation.
He expressed happiness that more and more employees are actively participating in the Employee Suggestion Scheme. On this occasion, Sri Gandhi congratulated all the winners of Employees Suggestion Scheme. He also presented Award to 96 employees for contributing 138 number of valuable suggestions (out of 890 received during December 11 to June 2012) which were accepted by the committee and opined that such suggestions will definitely improve the productivity of our Plant.
At the end a beautiful cultural fete was presented by young children of DAV School and members of Jyoti Ladies Club on this grand occasion.
