Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: Managing Director of HDFC Bank, Mr. Aditya Puri is on a 5 day visit to Odisha. It is his first visit to Odisha. He was conferred honorary degree of Doctorate in KIIT University at Bhubaneswar on a Special convocation organized by the University during 3rd National Finance Conclave dated 29th September 2012 for his exemplary contribution to banking industry & making HDFC Bank a world class Indian Bank.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, honorable Founder of KIIT & KISS praised Dr. Puri’s work and thanked him for accepting the Doctorate & his association with the University.

Dr. Puri on his acceptance speech for the honor conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Samanta for giving education altogether a different meaning. He was spell bound on his visit to KISS.

On his maiden visit to Odisha, Dr. Puri has met with his Excellency Shri Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Honorable Governor of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Honorable Gajapati of Puri Shri Dibya Singh Deb on 30th September 2012.

Honorable Gajapati briefed Dr. Aditya Puri on history and culture of Lord Jagannath and also advised Dr. Puri for facilitating customized banking products for the Sevayats. Dr. Puri confirmed for providing best facilities for the Sevayats of Lord Jagannath Temple.

Noted internationally renowned sand artist Mr. Sudarshan Patnaik had carved a sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti with a note of “ Improve Rural Economy “ in honour of Dr. Aditya Puri’s visit to Odisha.
