Talcher: Union minister of state for power KC Venugopal visited Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Kaniha today. He was accompanied by Malvinder Singh Soin, Regional Executive Director (ER II). On his arrival at NTPC, he was welcomed by VB Fadnavis ,General Manager, Kaniha. On the occasion, a guard of honor was presented by the CISF unit of NTPC Kaniha.
During his visit, the Union minister saw the statue of Anant Sayee Vishnu, an ancient monument of 9th century AD situated at the plant site. He visited the power plant and held a meeting with the senior officers of NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station.
During the meeting, he reviewed the performance of the power station and went through a presentation covering important milestones of the project including previous visits of former prime minister and other dignitaries.
Venugopal expressed his happiness over the consistent performance of the station in terms of plant load factor & power generation. He praised the efforts of NTPC, Kaniha towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), especially in the areas of education, health, infrastructure creation and supply of drinking water etc.
He urged that more emphasis should be given to CSR activities and ash management.
He lauded the committed efforts of employees of Talcher Super Thermal Power Station & Talcher Thermal Power Station.
