Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has collected commercial taxes of Rs 4,599.52 crore in quarter 2 the end of September during the 2012-13 fiscal.

Collection of commercial taxes in the State by the end of September during the 2012-13 fiscal was Rs 4,599.52 crore as against the collection of Rs 4,013.39 crore at the end of the corresponding period during 2011-12, a growth rate of 14.6 per cent.

The achievement of the Commercial Tax Department during the first half of 2012-13 is 37 per cent of the year’s target of Rs 12,400 crore. In 2011-12, the tax collection had amounted to Rs 9,653.53 crore. The current fiscal year’s target is 28 per cent higher than the last year’s collection.
