Report by OD bureau, Gop: Milk Mantra, the newest entrant in the dairy space in Odisha with its Truly Pure Milky Moo fresh milk and paneer, has created a remarkable impact with the Indian Coast Guard under the Ministry of Defense for its efficient and ethical supply chain management system.
As part of their higher rank course for Coast Guard personnel of logistics cadre at Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 7 (Odisha) located at Paradip, Commanded by Deputy Inspector General KPS Raghuvanshi, nearly 68 cadets of Indian Coast Guard visited Milk Mantra plant site at Gop in Puri district today.
On the visit, Mr Srikumar Misra , MD& CEO of Milk Mantra said, “ We are honored to have visit us the cadets of the Indian Coast Guard. It is a matter of pride that our supply chain management has been recognized by the Ministry of Defense and we feel humbled that we will contribute to the training of cadets who will go on to protect all of us. We have invested heavily in our people and systems to ensure that we have reduced time, pilferage and human errors in bringing the freshest and purest milk to consumers. This has helped us in operational integration, transparency in the operation and on transparent direct payment for the farmers.
The key activities under the supply chain management includes procurement of milk from farmers, arranging transportation of raw milk to bulk milk coolers, providing input services to the producers, providing management support & regular supervision to the farmers, establishing chilling centers, transportation to the dairy plant for processing the milk, processing milk into toned milk and milk products and finally reaching it to consumers via company owned cold chain transport.
Apprising the cadets on the management principles, operational activities, labour management, cost management, inventory management, packing and preservation for gaining practical knowledge, Milk Mantra COO, Lt. Col (Retd) Ashit Mahapatra said, “ Our Ethical Milk Sourcing program is at the core of our operations and supply chain as we all have to work together to create an eco system that propels growth. The farmers as well all those employed with Milk Mantra, directly and indirectly are given regular training to ensure efficiency of processes.’’
