Report by OD bureau, Bhubaneswar: Vedanta chief Anil Agarwal today met Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik at secretariat. Agarwal requested CM Naveen Patnaik to provide bauxite for Vedanta's Lanjigarh unit.
Mr Agarwal says that the Odisha government has promised bauxite linkage to its plants on a priority basis. Vedanta claims to have invested Rs. 60,000 crore in Odisha.
It should be noted that Vedanta successfully operating its refinery at Lanjigarh form seven years without getting any bauxite from the Odisha government, Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL) in October had announced a temporary shut down due to lack of the raw material.
