Bhubaneswar: The State Government wants the IDBI to re-evaluate the Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL).

The Centre has decided to merge NINL with Steel Authority of India Limited. Meanwhile, the IDBI has pegged the net value of NINL at Rs 2,217 crore.

However, the State Government feels it needs a re-assessment. At a meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Prafulla Ghadei, this unanimous decision was taken.

If NINL is merged with SAIL, the former will witness a capacity enhancement as well as expansion and in this backdrop, a re-evaluation is required, the meeting felt. The Government will soon write a letter to Ministry of Steel.
