Bhubaneswar: KIIT University and Wipro Technologies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to start basic diploma courses under Industry-Institute-Partnership Programme. Under the partnership, short-term postgraduate courses spanning 6 months to 1 year in Technology Infrastructure Service (TIS) will also be offered.
These courses will cater to the growing demand of skilled manpower in IT infrastructure management service (IMS). It is becoming a real challenge for all IT companies in India to get manpower with right skill for IMS. These courses will be conducted as per customized course curriculum prepared by Wipro. Trainers will be arranged by Wipro to train the teachers of KIIT for successfully conducting these courses with an aim to prepare IT industry ready manpower for IMS practice.
KIIT University signed another MOU with Wipro, under which diploma students of KIIT will be trained in English language communication skill with customized course curriculum to make them industry ready in IMS practice. Apart from this initiative, Wipro will be conducting recruitment drive for Diploma students of this university every year to select meritorious students through its normal selection procedure.
Terming this agreement as yet another expression of KIIT's focus on quality partnership with industry, Dr. A. Samanta, Chancellor, KIIT University said that the resulting academic programmes will greatly enhance the employability of diploma graduates in the State, which is languishing till date.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Chancellor, KIIT University, Dr. R. N. Ray, Registrar, Mr. Suvas Mohapatra, GM, Wipro Technologies, Mr. Parthasarthy Vardhan, Head TIS Academy and other senior officers of KIIT and Wipro were present at the memorandum signing ceremony.
