Bhubaneswar: Following a political turmoil in Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the last two days, party workers here have expressed their anguish against MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra by shouting slogans against him in a demonstration held in front of the district Collectorate here.
Some BJD activists also went out in a rally round the town demanding dismissal of Mohapatra from the party and burned his effigy on the streets. Party MLAs and an MP from here who are at Bhubaneswar to show their solidarity towards Naveen Patnaik were absent during the Mohapatra protest campaign.
The party workers hurled accusations on Mohapatra for his involvement in different scams in the district and demanded his resignation from party immediately. Similar protest activities were also found in Barbil, Anandpur and other parts of the district.
