Odisha: RDC, central range suspended three revenue officials on Kujang land scam issue

Report by Amarnath Parida; Jagatsinghpur: Revenue Divisional Commissioner, central range Mr. Arbind Kumar Padhi has suspended three revenue officials including head clerk of Kujang tahsil Mr. Tushar Sahu and revenue inspector Mr. Pratap Swain and another one RI Mr Sudam Guru for their involvement on land scam on Tuesday.

There are large number of irregularities on land settlement, mutation, lease and other activists in Kujang thasil. Locals had been aired their grievances to district collector and others but no one took any action against these corrupt officials by the pressure of ruling party leaders.

Being harassed, local villagers submitted memorandum near RDC, central range Mr. Padhi and urged to conduct an inquiry about the large number of irregularities on mutation and land settlement. After getting this allegation, RDC Mr Padhi had sent a team led by his secretary Mr. Upendranath Mallick to conduct an inquiry about these irregularities.

During inquiry, team came to know that land settlement of different influential people at Bijayachandpur has been finalized on the basis of Xerox copy of land document and without original document. Land document has been given fake persons by acquiring encroachment of government land. Similarly, these three employees have been given land on lease basis by accepting huge amount of money as bribe. One racket was in active in Kujang tahsil in which these three employees took major role on land scam.
Later, secretary of RDC Mr Mallick had submitted detailed report regarding these irregularities near RDC Mr Padhi. On today, RDC Mr Padhi has been suspended head clerk Mr. Sahu and RI Mr. Swain and Guru from their duties and asked district collector to take action against them immediately.

District Collector Mr. Narayan Chandra Jena has expressed ‘administration has received the direction of RDC to suspend them on land irregularities on land issue so action will be taken against them’. He added.

Irate villagers locked three government run primary schools on teacher’s transfer issue Report by Amarnath Parida; Jagatsinghpur: The irate villagers and students locked three government primary schools in Raghunathpur , Tirtol, Erasama block for demanding the transfer of teachers on Tuesday.

Sources said that the education of nearly 181 students of Paschimswer Nodal Primary school has been affected while irate villagers have locked the school gate for protesting the transfer of regular teacher from said school. This school had one regular teacher while department has been replaced him by posting another Sikhya Sahyak.

Villagers have alleged that this school has no regular teacher in which education system will be paralyzed. Earlier, villagers demanded to provide regular teacher but officials have transferred one regular teacher by the pressure of ruling party leaders.

Similarly, the strength of student Siha Project UP school under Erasama block is 64 while department has been decided to conduct transfer of teachers as 30:1. As per this rule, nearly three teachers should be placed in this school while six teachers including two handicapped teachers have been placed in this school. Earlier, villagers demanded to replace three teachers from this school as per strength but no steps have been taken by department during this year’s massive transfer of teachers.

Protesting it, irate villagers demonstrated agitation by locking the gate of this school. On the other hand, On the other hand, the villagers also locked Karimula projecy primary school under Raghunathpur block for demanding of school headmistress of this school in which education system of these three primary schools has been affected due to agitation on Tuesday.

Deputy Inspector of Schools, Tirtol Mr. Dillip Kumar Sahu has expressed ‘department has received the allegation from local villagers so steps have been taken to fulfill their demands. After getting assurance, villagers have called off their stir on today afternoon’- he added.
