Report by OD bureau; Cuttack: All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) activists burnt the effigy of the School & mass education minister Pratap Jena protesting the hacking of matric result a day before its publication.

Students led by AIDSO, Odisha state vice-president Ganesh Tripathy, Secretary Shibasis Praharaj, Secretariat members Sidharth Rath, Cuttack District Committee president Babi Balbantaray & secretary Bhagyarabi Das demonstrated before the Board Office and advocated for the stringent punishment to the Minister, Board Authorities & the concerned company responsible for the mishap.

They also demanded for the publication of the result in the form of a booklet & to restrict entry of the private companies in the process of the examination conduction & result publication. AIDSO told that through this process Govt.  & authorities are trying to privatise the examination system in one hand and destroying the very process of democratization at the other.

As a result of which hacking of matric result took place which may eventually lead to the mental breakdown of the students. At this critical stage authorities expressed callousness in the matter. AIDSO vehemently criticized the attitude of the Govt. & board authorities and urged upon the students, guardians & education loving people of the state to develop sustained mass movements on the aforesaid demands.

Protest meetings and effigy burnings have also been done in Bhubaneswar under the leadership of the AIDSO state vice-president Subash Nayak and Bhubaneswar Local Committee president Nasim sarkar & secretary Swosti Sangita Dalai, in Brahmapur under the leadership of state secretariat member Kartik Mohanta & Ganjam district secretary Shibani Sankar Mishra, in Angul under the leadership of state secretariat members Paramananda Sahoo & Debajani Dehuri, and in Balangir as well under the leadership of state secretariat member Chitta Ranjan Mishra & Balangir district secretary Sunil Bhoi.
