Dhenkanal: The State Government ordered the DG of Police to take strong action against the culprit who has threatened to kill farmer leader Er. Debashisha Hota, if he would not postpone his movement for the benefits of the land-losers of RSB Metal Tech Pvt. Ltd.,the proposed Aluminium plant at Kamakhyanagar. The Under Secretary to Government Mr. S. Muduli issued a letter having no.24232 dated 19.6.2012 to Mr. Hota in this regard.
Here noteworthy that, on last 27th March 3 unsocial of Jamunakote village destroyed 5 hundred acre ground-nuts of lakhs of rupees in front of 2 hundred farmers by forced-entry of cattle to their fields. Immediately these suffered farmers contacted Er. Hota, who advised them to lodge an FIR against the culprits in the nearest police station, since he has a great faith on the police system of our country. Accordingly, the sufferers rushed to the nearest Surapratapapur Police Out-Post in Bhuban Police Station & lodged the FIR. But unfortunately, the local police officials are silent for last 1 month. This questions the impartiality of the polic . Likewise on last 9th April, the Samiti Sabhy of Mahulpal Gram Panchayat & Kamakhyanagar Gas Agency Owner Mr. Sushant Pattanaik threatened Er. Hota and 2 other farmer leaders Mr. Nibaran Mahabhoi & Sarat Behera not to fight for the common people in the proposed Mega Aluminium Plant RSB Metal Tech Pvt Ltd. Otherwise Mr. Pattanaik threatened to kill all of them & burn the Bijadihi Tribal Village Matiasahi. Against this, on the same day at 12 noon, Mr. Hota has lodged an FIR at Kamakhyanagar police station. During that time also, Mr. Patnaik rushed to the P.S. & misbehaved Er. Hota in presence of the ASI Mr. Padhi.
Against in-action of the police a peaceful rally of hundreds of farmers was moved from Kalpana club to the office of the SDPO. Immediately, Mr. Rajakishore Dora, SDPO, Kamakhyanagar, discussed with convener Er. Hota & gave assurance of strong & immediate legal actions against all the culprits. After this assurance, all farmers postponed the agitation.
But, unfortunately, till date no action was taken against any culprit in both the cases. Er. Hota blamed this in-action of the police & demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
We’ve great faith on the constitution of our country. But due to this type of behavior & mishandling of some of the Police officers, the common people continuously loosing faith on the constitution of India. I’m thankful of the State Government for this strong stand in these farmers’ cases, Er. Hota told to the Media today.
