Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway has decided to introduce a new passenger train between Gunupur and Palasa from July 21, pursuant to the announcement made in the last Railway Budget for running a daily passenger train between the two stations and provide better facilities to the commuters.
On the inaugural run on the day, the Gunupur-Palasa passenger will be flagged off by Lok Sabha member of Koraput Jayaram Pangi at Gunupur Station. Gunupur MLA Ramamurthy Mutika will also attend the function.
The 58420 Gunupur-Palasa will leave Gunupur at 8.15 pm and arrive at Palasa at 11.45 pm via Kashi Nagar, Parlakhemundi, Pathapatnam, Tikali, Naupada, Rauthpuram and Pundi.
In the return direction, 58419 Palasa-Gunupur passenger will leave Palasa at 3.30 am and arrive at Gunupur at 6.30 am.
